Campaign 26V425000SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER:RETRACTOR
July 2, 2026

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2026 LEAF vehicles. The outer rear seat belt automatic locking retractors (ALR) may deactivate early, which can prevent a child restraint system (CRS) from securing properly. Remedy:

Dealers will replace the rear outboard seat belt assemblies, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 28, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated October 28, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's number for this recall is R26A7. Transport Canada Recall Data

Canadian recall campaigns — may differ from U.S. NHTSA recalls.

Campaign 2026145High Voltage
March 26, 2026

Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem inside the high-voltage battery could cause a short circuit. If this happens, the high-voltage battery could overheat. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Nissan advises that you should not charge your vehicle and to park the vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership, or to contact a dealer to arrange to have the vehicle towed to the dealership, to replace the high-voltage battery module(s), as necessary.

Campaign 2026324Seats And Restraints
July 2, 2026

Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear outboard seat belts may contain defective automatic locking retractors (ALR). As a result, the seat belts may not properly lock to secure a child seat. Note: The vehicle's lower universal anchorage system (UAS) is not affected by this defect and may still be used to secure a child seat. Safety Risk: A seat belt that is used to secure a child restraint but is not properly locked could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Nissan recommends using the vehicle's UAS system when securing a child seat. Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear outboard seat belt(s).
