July 31, 2026 driving on the Garden State Parkway in NJ in traffic at 65 mph in the far left lane, my engine seized without warning. The car started beeping and the dash lit up something like engine stopped low steering power. I had to maneuver across 2 lanes of high-speed traffic with no power, limited steering and brakes. Then coasted to a stop and tried to restart the engine. Only a click, nothing. After that I had to wait on the side of the highway for 20-30 minutes with cars speeding by only inches away so fast it shook the truck. One miscalculation by a driver could have resulted in a crash I was towed to my house, then towed to Toyota dealer. They confirmed my engined seized due to recall 25TB14 SAFETY RECALL - 25TA14 (INTERIM NOTICE 25TB14) and replaced the engine. Vehicle had 22,3xx miles when it failed and was less than 2 years old.
The brake vacuum pump failed at 46k causing a loss of brake power. Low brake power park in a safe place and call the dealer.
Engine knocking at normal highway speeds when gas pedal not pressed. At idle very loud engine knock. While i was driving to the dealership engine shut off at highway speeds causing me to swerve in an out of traffic to pull over safely complete engine loss power...i took it to toyota ON 8/12/26 they confirmed main bearing in cylinder 1 failed. Toyota states new motor to be installed.
Around 24,000 miles, the truck developed severe vibration when braking at highway speed slowing down from 65mph. The fix required the owner to replace front and rear rotors and brake pads due to warping.
The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that while driving 80 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, with the message " Check Power Steering " displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle then stalled. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road through traffic and parked safely. The vehicle failed to restart. The contact exited the vehicle and inspected the vehicle but found no fault with the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with possible engine failure, which was associated with the open recall. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 49,367.
While driving, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled and lost power. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for diagnosis, where the same stalling condition was reproduced and confirmed during a dealer road test. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealership, where the engine was found to be seized. The sudden loss of power while driving created a serious safety concern because the vehicle could become disabled without warning and lose motive power in traffic. The failure was confirmed by the authorized dealership, and the vehicle and engine were available for inspection during the repair process. There were no known warning lamps, diagnostic messages, or other clear advance warnings that would have allowed me to anticipate the engine failure before the vehicle stalled.
Complete catastrophic engine failure at 36,514 miles on July 2, 2026, while the vehicle was being driven. There were no warning lamps, messages, knocking, or other symptoms prior to the failure - a sudden and total loss of motive power while the vehicle was in motion, creating a serious risk of a crash. The vehicle was towed to a franchised Toyota dealership (Hendrick Toyota Concord, Concord, NC), where the dealer confirmed the engine failure. The failure is consistent with the engine machining debris / #1 main bearing defect described in NHTSA Recall Nos. 24V-381 and 25V-767 and the related Toyota campaigns (25TB14/25TA14). As of this filing, the vehicle has been out of service at the dealership for more than 40 days with no replacement engine allocated and no repair date provided. A Toyota corporate case (#260805003088) is open. The vehicle and failed engine are available for inspection at the dealership.
The TCM is faulty. There is a tsb so Toyota is well aware of the issue. They will not take care of it under the power train warranty. The TCM doesn't shift the vehicle correctly. This lag and funny shifting almost caused an accident.
My 2024 tundra with 55000 miles suddenly lost all power going down a major highway. The engine failed suddenly. Luckily I didn’t wreck. I paid out of pocket to have it towed to dealership where it has sat untouched for 9 days. The engine is included in the recall that they have.
My 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition, VIN [XXX], is subject to Toyota Safety Recall 25TA06, Interim 25TB06, NHTSA Recall 25V322, concerning reverse lamps that may become inoperable. The recall was announced in May 2025, but a repair remedy has still not been made available for my vehicle. The truck is primarily used for family transportation, including trips and nighttime driving. I experienced a minor, low-speed property-damage incident while reversing in a poorly lit garage area. Visibility behind and beside the vehicle was limited, and the truck contacted a garage-door support column before the garage lighting came on. The incident caused minor cosmetic side damage. There were no injuries, no structural damage, no police report, and no insurance claim. I previously advised Toyota that I had experienced an issue related to the recall. Toyota opened Customer Experience Case [XXX]. Toyota offered to keep my truck at a dealership indefinitely and provide alternate transportation until a remedy became available, but it could not guarantee a comparable Tundra 1794 or provide an estimated repair date. Toyota later opened repurchase review Case [XXX]. I promptly provided the requested documentation, but despite repeated telephone and email follow-ups, Toyota has not provided a meaningful review timeline, vehicle inspection date, or final determination. My primary complaint to NHTSA is the extended period without an available safety remedy and the continuing risk to owners operating affected vehicles. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the adequacy and timeliness of Toyota’s recall remedy process for this defect.
